What does CarLog do with a receipt?
You photograph or import a maintenance or repair receipt. The AI extracts fields such as date, shop, service items, and amounts, and attaches the original wording it read for each field so you can check it.
Are the totals checked by AI?
No. Amount arithmetic and duplicate detection run on your device with fixed rules. The AI only proposes the extracted fields; nothing is saved until you confirm it.
Where do reminders come from?
Only from what the receipt states explicitly, or from an interval you set yourself. CarLog does not infer a manufacturer service schedule from your car model or year.
Does CarLog connect to an OBD adapter or diagnose my car?
No. There is no OBD or vehicle connection, no fault-code reading, and no diagnosis. CarLog keeps records of work that was already done.
What happens to the original receipt image?
After you confirm a record, the original image is stored on your device together with the record, so you can reopen it later.
What is free and what needs credits?
The app is free to download and includes a small number of starter credits. Each AI receipt extraction uses credits, so AI use is limited to the credits you hold. Local Pro is a separate one-time unlock for local features only; it never adds AI credits.
What leaves my device?
The text read from the receipt and a reduced-size copy of its image are sent to The Sky Bringup AI service to extract the fields. Saved records, originals, and reminders stay on your device.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Purchase History on your device, or contact Apple Support directly.
